At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, investigators with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office say they served a search warrant on the 200 block of McCoy Church Road as part of an ongoing sexual assault investigation.

The search and investigation led to the arrests of Tommy Lynn Gilliam, 55, and Amanda Charlene Wilkes, 43, at the home, according to officers.

This investigation was initiated following allegations of sexual assault against a juvenile at the home, authorities said.

During the investigation, investigators also identified and arrested Mark Aaron Snell, 55, of the 1800 block of Creek Road, for his involvement in the incident, authorities said.

All three suspects have been booked into the Burke County Detention Center.

Additional charges may follow as this remains an active and ongoing investigation. Due to the sensitive nature of this case and to protect the identity of the victim, no additional details regarding the age or identity of the minor will be released at this time, the sheriff’s office said.
