Houston police are releasing new information about a serial sex predator responsible for five random apartment attacks

HOUSTON – Researchers with the Houston police The Special Victim’s Division is releasing new information about a man they believe is linked to five apartment burglaries and assaults on West Gulf Bank Rd. area in the past three months.

The news conference will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the HPD Edward A. Thomas Building at 1200 Travis St..

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

All five attacks took place at apartment complexes. Four of them occurred at properties on West Gulf Bank Rd. The most recent attack occurred at a complex just south of that area off West Little York Rd.

The first attack occurred on August 14 and the most recent attack occurred at 7:30 am on the morning of November 8.

The attacker gains access to the women’s apartments by opening unlocked doors or forcing their way inside after someone answers. In several cases he covered his face with a balaclava and was armed with a gun.

On November 8 KPRC 2’s Bryce Newberry spoke to someone who knew the most recent victim. She said the woman briefly left her apartment to take her child to a bus stop. When she returned, the man was inside. She believed he had been watching her.

The attacker hid behind her door and attacked her. He left her apartment about an hour later and she went to a hospital.
