Video shows white orb emerging from ocean off Kuwait coast, major UFO hearing in US Congress told | American news

A video showing a ‘white orb’ UFO emerging from the ocean off the coast of Kuwait has been found on the US Defense Department’s own network, a Congressional hearing has heard.

Journalist Michael Shellenberger gave testimony to House representatives about unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), the now preferred term for UFOs, and said a source told him about the images in recent weeks.

As it happened: Latest updates from the hearing

Mr. Shellenberger, the founder of the public news service, said the 13-minute high-definition color video was of the “sphere” 20 miles (32 kilometers) off the coast of Kuwait and was filmed from a helicopter.

“Then, halfway through the video, the person said, the sphere is joined by another sphere that briefly enters the frame from the left before quickly moving out of frame again.”

He said the source discovered the video on SIPR, the Secure Internet Protocol Router Network that the Defense Department “uses to transmit classified information.”

In a particularly eye-catching moment, Representative Nancy Mace, who served as co-chair of the hearing, produced a twelve-page document intended to detail a secret UAP crash recovery program known as Immaculate Constellation.

“Come to me, I think.”

The report was submitted to Congress by Mr. Shellenberger, who told the hearing that a whistleblower, who is a current or former official, wrote the report stating that “the executive branch has been administering UAPs for some time, possibly decades, without knowledge or consent of Congress”.

After including the document in the congressional record, Ms. Mace said she was warned that referring to the program’s name in a public setting would put her “on a list,” to which she said, “Come to me, I think.”

The hearing was dubbed “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth,” and is part of a committee’s ongoing efforts to provide more information about what the government knows or doesn’t know about UAPs.

The House Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology and Government Innovation was told that objects, including those observed to perform at more than 3,000Gs, have been spotted over US military and energy sites.

The representatives learned that the underwater objects could travel faster than American submarines and withstand enormous forces.

‘We are not alone in the cosmos’

Luis Elizondo, a former Defense Department official, was asked if these objects could be controlled through a “mind-body connection,” to which he replied that they were clearly “intelligently controlled.”

“The vehicles we’re talking about… perform over 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 G’s,” he said, adding that they respond to human movements and are incredibly agile.

“We are talking about technologies that outperform everything in our (military) inventory,” he said.

Mr. Elizondo also said there is “absolutely enough data” to suggest there is “some kind of relationship” between UAPs and “sensitive U.S. military installations, also some of our nuclear assets and also some of our department of energy sites.”

He later clarified that this could be because the UAPs, or whoever or whatever operates them, are particularly interested in obtaining information about the locations, or it could simply be because there is greater visibility in such sensitive areas that more are noticed.

Mr. Elizondo said “excessive secrecy” has led to grave misdeeds… to hide the fact that we are not alone in the cosmos.”

We are “in the midst of a decades-long, secret arms race – one funded by misallocated taxpayer dollars and hidden from our elected representatives and oversight bodies,” Mr. Elizondo stated during his testimony.

Members also heard that the US had recovered crashed UAPs to understand how to reverse engineer them, but witnesses said they could not elaborate further.

Last year, the House Oversight Committee also investigated UFOs, with at least one witness alleging a Pentagon cover-up – something the department denied.

In November 2023, NASA announced it would take “concrete action” to investigate the potential threat of UFOs after publishing a landmark report on the phenomenon.

A 33-page report found that NASA should play a greater role in detecting such phenomena.
