Cheshire teacher resigns after politically charged video sparks controversy

CHESHIRE, CT(WFSB) – A Cheshire teacher resigned Wednesday following the viral spread of a politically charged video that sparked public outrage.

Cheshire’s chief inspector confirmed that Annie Dunleavy, the teacher in question, had resigned after being dismissed went on leave earlier this week.

Dunleavy, a teacher in the district, was placed on leave Monday pending an investigation into the video, which sparked controversy.

The video, shared widely on social media, led to calls for action at a city council meeting on Tuesday. where community members voiced their concerns and called for accountability.

In a statement sent out on Wednesday, Cheshire’s Chief Inspector addressed the situation.

Dunleavy did not respond to Channel 3’s request for comment.
