Clarksville High celebrates four student-athletes signing their National Letter of Intent

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High School hosted a signing ceremony on Wednesday, November 13 for four student-athletes who signed to play their sports in college. Rebekah Allen signed to play football at Ole Miss, while Jack Wyatt (Carson Newman), Korbin Reynolds (Vanderbilt) and Kirk Weatherford (Evansville) all signed to play college baseball.

Allen started the ceremony signing a letter of intent to play with the Ole Miss Rebels in the South-Easter Conference. Afterward, Clarksville High girls soccer coach Sara Kluttz talked about how meaningful the senior was to their program.

Allen missed her junior year due to injury, but in three years of playing she totaled 45 goals and 43 assists, and was a two-time All-State selection.

“The competitiveness and atmosphere attracted me to play at Oxford,” Allen said. “I fell in love with the program, the coaches and the campus. It means the world to me, it took a lot to get here, but I’m excited to represent my hometown. I always dreamed of playing in the SEC.”

Meanwhile, Reynolds entered college baseball by signing his letter of intent to play for Vanderbilt University after hitting .423 and recording 37 RBIs during the 2023-2024 season.

Weatherford was the next to sign his letter of intent with the University of Evansville. The senior batted .395 last season and collected 62 basehits. Two-way power forward Jack Wyatt was the latest to sign as he plans to play baseball at Carson-Newman. On the mound, Wyatt compiled a 9-0 record this past season, including four postseason victories. He also had an on-base percentage of .471 at the plate.

“I’ve been doing this a long time, and it never gets old,” said Clarksville High head baseball coach Brian Hetland. “These three guys are the epitome of student-athletes, hard workers and multi-sport athletes. It’s fun to be a part of their journey, and these guys have meant a lot to our program.”
