Emma Snipes charged with manslaughter in connection with deadly 2023 wreck

COLBERT CO., Ala. (WAF) – A Colbert County grand jury has indicted a woman on manslaughter charges nearly a year after a deadly crash.

Officials say Emma Snipes is responsible for the death of Jimmie Smallwood in a car crash in Tuscumbia in November 2023.

Court records show Snipes was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

A toxicology report showed Snipes had alcohol, amphetamines and marijuana in her system.

She is now out on bail and her arraignment is scheduled for November 19.
