Animal trio reunited in animal hospital after fiery L-15 crash

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Three animals have been reunited and are now recovering at an animal hospital in Henderson after being injured in a fiery crash on Interstate 15 earlier this week.

On November 8 a semi-truck overturned and caught fire when it collided with a camper carrying two dogs and a turtle.

Rescue group Paws Patrol LV stepped up to care for the animals. One dog they named Miracle had burns on her face, body and paws. They later learned that her name is Chloe.

On Wednesday afternoon, Chole was reunited with the other pets at Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital in Henderson. Her tail wagged with excitement as she was reunited with Jim the Pomeranian.

Jim also suffered burns to his hind legs. The turtle, which was also injured, was placed in the same play area.

Chloe was rescued about two miles from the crash site by a good Samaritan.

“As you can see, her front legs are bandaged and her front legs were quite burned… I don’t know if that was from the actual fire or from her running or a combination of both. You could see her whiskers were singed, she had some burns and cuts around her face,” said Maressa Larimer, a veterinarian at Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital.

In addition to emergency medical care, the team at Horizon Ridge also makes sure Chole gets lots of love.

“I just give her a lot of love. The staff here is loving left and right. She is a very, very sweet dog,” Larimer revealed.

The animals’ owner, who was hospitalized after the crash, will be reunited with them on Thursday. The vets hope that by then Chole will have run out of fluid and be ready to go home.

Paws Patrol LV recently helped several dogs, including Reba the bulldog who was dumped behind a supermarket, locked in a locked box.
