Familiar Faces Return to City Council – DiscoverMooseJaw.com

Five of the six chosen candidates will be familiar faces after being elected as Moose Jaw city councilors Wednesday night.

Winning seats on the Moose Jaw City Council were Jamey Logan, Patrick Boyle, Chris Warren, Heather Eby, Dawn Luhning and Carla Delaurier

Jamey Logan was re-elected as the top vote getter with 4,382 votes. This will be Logan’s second term on the City Council. He was first elected in 2020.

Patrick Boyle finished second in the voting with 3,662 votes. This will be Boyle’s second stint on the council. He returns after serving as a councilor from 2012 to 2016.

Another former city council member, Chris Warren, finished third in the voting with 2,666 votes. Warren served on the City Council from 2016 to 2020. But after missing a term, he returns to the City Council.

Longtime city council member Heather Eby finished fourth with 2,574 votes. Eby was first elected to the City Council in 2009 and served three terms. She lost her seat in the 2016 municipal elections, but returned to the city council together with the municipal council in the 2018 by-elections. Don Mitchell retired.

Another former councilor is also re-elected. Dawn Luhning finished fifth with 2,523 votes. Luhning was first elected to the city council in 2003 and has now been elected for a seventh term.

In the sixth and final seat at the council table is newcomer Carla Delaurier with 2,516 votes. Delaurier has lived in Moose Jaw for more than 45 years and owns businesses and rental properties.

There were a total of 24 candidates for the six municipal council seats in Wednesday evening’s elections. The results are unofficial. A statement of the official election results will be released by the city at 11 a.m. Friday

The new mayor and alderman will be sworn in during a special council meeting on Monday at 4 p.m. in the council chamber.
