John Stamos vows to stand by Dave Coulier’s side amid the battle against cancer

Johannes Stamos afterwards publicly showed his support Dave Coulier announced his diagnosis of stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“My brother from day 1,” Stamos, 61, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, Nov. 14, alongside photos of him and Coulier, 65, through the years. “I love you @dcoulier and I will be by your side.”

Coulier was diagnosed “very aggressive” cancer in October after an upper respiratory infection caused severe swelling of his lymph nodes.

“I went from, I got a little cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming,” he revealed People Wednesday, noting that it had not spread to his bone marrow. “At that point my chances of recovery went from slightly low to (the) 90 percent. And so that was a great day.”

Coulier recalled how he told his former Full House cast members the news, adding, “I didn’t want them to hear it from anyone else, so I sent a text message.” It was just this outpouring of, ‘I’ll be there. Just name the time, and I know you’re in good hands with (wife Melissa Bring), but what can we do?’ It’s really overwhelming how much love we have for each other. We’ve been there for each other for so many years, and it’s pretty remarkable.

Coulier is expect a visit from Stamos later this week while he undergoes chemotherapy treatment.

“He says, ‘If you just want to sleep, I’ll just sit with you.’ Or if you want to listen to music or just talk, whatever,” Coulier recalled Stamos telling him. “And I’m like, ‘Wow. That’s like a brother. That’s really a brother. ”

Full housewhich ran from 1987 to 1995, followed by Danny (Bob Saget) while trying to raise his three daughters – DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Zoetin) and Michelle (Mary Kate And Ashley Olsen) – after the death of his wife. Danny’s brother-in-law, Jesse (Stamos), and best friend Joey (Coulier) then moved in to help him.

The series, in which also played the leading role Andrea Barber, Lori Loughlin And Steve Weingerwas revived by Netflix as Fuller house in 2016. Many of the The show’s OG cast members showed up throughout the spin-off’s five seasons.

In 2022, the cast mourned the loss of Saget, who died at the age of 65 in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida. A month later, the Orange County, Florida, medical examiner confirmed that Saget’s death was the result of “blunt head trauma” from an “accidental” fall.

The cast of Full House released a joint statement following Saget’s death, saying: “Thirty-five years ago we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. He was a brother to us boys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly.”
