Authorities say two teens are in custody after leading Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies on a chase in a stolen vehicle.

Authorities say the 14-year-old boys struck two other vehicles during the chase, including a parked car, before crashing and fleeing on foot.

Just before 4 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the 5000 block of Myron Massey Road to investigate a report of persons with weapons, sheriff’s spokesman Henry Irby said.

When they arrived, they attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver of the Hyundai refused and a pursuit ensued.

During the chase, Irby said, the driver struck a motorist on Allison Bonnet Memorial Drive, causing minimal damage.

The chase ended in the 5300 block of Molton Gray Drive, where the driver struck a vehicle parked in a driveway.

Four suspects exited the vehicle and ran into a wooded area.

Civil society officers immediately arrested one of the suspects.

Jefferson County sniffer dogs and Bessemer officers responded to the scene and captured a second suspect as he left the wooded area.

Alabama State Troopers also responded to investigate.

Irby said one gun was recovered.

Two other suspects are still on the run.

One of the captured teens is charged with first-degree receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment, menacing, attempting to elude, prohibiting certain persons from possessing a firearm and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident .

The second suspect is charged with attempted evasion.

Both are being held at the Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center.
