Parisian man burned while doing garden work, flown to hospital

PARIS, Texas (KXII) – A man in Paris had to be flown to the hospital after being seriously burned while working in the yard.

According to Paris police, the incident happened Wednesday evening around 9:20 p.m. on Polk St., near 10th St. SE.

Police received a call that a man walked into a home covered in burns and smelling of gasoline.

Officers found the man lying on the ground with significant burns to large parts of his body and detected the odor of gasoline.

The caller provided surveillance video showing a large flame in an adjacent yard before the man headed to her home.

According to police, the man was burning a pile of leaves when the incident happened.

Nothing was known about his condition on Thursday.
