Woman dies in ORR car accident near Keesara

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old woman, Roshini, was killed on Thursday when the car she was traveling in collided with another vehicle on the Outer Ring Road near Keesara. Her husband Suman, 32, who was at the wheel, and their two-year-old daughter survived.

Though the car’s airbags deployed, Roshini, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at a private hospital, police said.

The family was returning to Uppal from Vemulawada when the accident occurred. The ORR ambulance and task force took the family to Ghatkesar hospital.

According to Sector Sub-Inspector Venkatesh, the accident took place at milestone no. 75 on the ORR. Although the accident occurred at 9:30 am, police received information from the hospital at 10:40 am.

Police said Suman, a marketing agent at a private bank in Gachibowli, was in shock and could not remember any details. He could only say that he was driving in the fourth lane from the left when a vehicle swerved into his path, leading to the collision.

Police launched an investigation by scanning CCTV footage to identify vehicles that had rear-end damage. Keesara police have registered a case of culpable homicide.
