Henderson Co. Schools installs a new warning system

HENDERSON CO., Ky. (WFIE) – Henderson County School officials say they have installed a new alert system in every school building in the district.

That new system is the Centegix Crisis Alert System.

School officials say the system includes wearable badges for staff with an emergency button.

Once the button is pressed we are told that audio and visual notifications will be sent throughout the building using colored flashing lights, desktop alerts and building intercoms.

According to a press release, this allows the entire building to be shut down immediately.

Strobe lights are installed in classrooms, hallways, gymnasiums, cafeterias and around the school grounds.

“Our top priority is the safety of our students and employees. By implementing the Centegix Crisis Response Solution, we are adding an extra layer of safety and taking a proactive step to ensure we are prepared for any situation that may arise,” notes Dr. Bob Lawson, superintendent of Henderson County Schools.
