19-year-old driver seriously injured in collision

BRISTOL – A 19-year-old Goshen man suffered serious injuries when he collided with a tractor-trailer on US 20 near Elcona Country Club.

Jackson Green was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with life-threatening internal injuries, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers were called to the crash at 1:12 a.m. Thursday.

Green, driving a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu, was traveling south on CR 21 when he collided with a trailer being towed by a 2005 Peterbilt semi traveling west on US 20.

The car had significant damage to the driver’s side, police said. The driver of the truck, Jason Hasch, 32, of Defiance, Ohio, was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said.
