Emily’s first warning forecast: a warm start to the weekend

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – We’ve seen a nice warm-up today…highs in the 50s and some low 60s with lots of sunshine. We cool off quickly at night with light winds and clear skies. It will be a fresh start to the day, dress in layers. We’ll start out in the low to mid 30s Friday and climb into the 60s before noon. 63 in Omaha.

Friday forecast
Friday forecast(wow)

Although warm through the end of the week, Friday and Saturday in the 60s, we will be a bit breezy with wind gusts into the mid 20s. Take advantage of the heat while it’s here! Sunday will be cooler, but less windy.

Weekend

Our next system to watch comes Monday…we’ll be on the warmer side Monday and Tuesday, with showers likely.

The second half of the system is more up for debate. If it lingers, we have moisture nearby and we are cooling down. That will be a recipe for our first chance at winter weather this season! We’ll be keeping an eye on the snow potential Wednesday afternoon through Thursday… right now there is a chance, but it’s not set in stone yet.

Either way, plan for a cold end to the 10-day weather forecast as highs fall into the 30s.
