No injuries were reported in the incident.

The driver, identified as Damion W. Germain, 47, of Glens Falls, now faces multiple charges, including driving while impaired by drugs and three counts of unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, police said.

The incident began Monday around 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 87 in Malta, police said.

Troopers then attempted to stop Germain for a vehicle and traffic law violation, but he failed to stop and a pursuit began, police said.

Troopers soon stopped the pursuit in the area of Ushers Road in Clifton Park, citing safety concerns while Germain was driving recklessly, police said.

However, troopers observed Germain stopped at a red light at Route 9 and Fire Road in Halfmoon. As the troops approached, he fled again, police said.

Police then began the pursuit a second time, this time going through multiple roads until the car was terminated again on Route 146 in Mechanicville due to further safety concerns, police said.

However, Germain continued driving, crashed on Route 4 and overturned, police said.

He was taken into custody and determined to be unharmed. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.

Germain was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He also refused to provide a sample to determine the drug content of his blood, police said.

Germain also faces charges of second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with numerous violations of vehicle and traffic laws, police said.

He was charged and released to return to court later.
