Bay Minette man killed in two-vehicle crash: ALEA

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) – A Bay Minette man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred around 5:04 a.m. on US 31 near the 11-mile marker, about a mile north of Stapleton in Baldwin County.

Robert M. Thompson, 46, was killed when the 2001 Ford Explorer he was driving struck an unoccupied 2001 Mack tractor-trailer that was disabled and lying in the roadway.

According to ALEA, Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is still investigating.
