Nick Davidson’s brother signs with Wolf Pack Basketball

RENO, Nev. (Nevada Athletics) – The Nevada Men’s Basketball program and head coach Steve Alford have announced the signing of Blake Davidson, a 6-9, 200-pound forward, from Mater Dei high school, located in Santa Ana, California Davidson is originally from Mission Viejo, California.

“Blake is an athletic great, with a very good understanding of how to play the game. His mother played volleyball at Nevada and his father played basketball at Nevada. His brother Nick Davidson currently plays basketball here in Nevada and will have another year to play alongside his younger brother. Blake’s best basketball is ahead of him, and he is an excellent student and understands the importance of balancing academics and athletics.

Davidson averaged 11.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last season for Mater Dei, one of the top programs in California.

Davidson, now a rising senior at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, has built his game around strong play inside the arc.

As a junior, he scored 155 two-pointers and hit ten three-pointers. He averaged 4.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in his second year.

Mater Dei, which finished 10th in California last season and 49th nationally according to MaxPreps, has been an excellent platform for Davidson’s development. He also competed with Vegas Elite on the AAU circuit, further honing his skills.

Davidson joins Peyton White in Nevada’s 2025 recruiting class ahead of the 2025-2026 season. Nevada Basketball continues to build momentum and add depth to the roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, with seven players on the 2024-25 roster in their final year of eligibility.
