Teddi Mellencamp Says ‘There’s Multiple Sides to Every Story’ While Referring to Edwin Arroyave Divorce Rumors

“I’m not going to confirm or deny anything, but there are a lot of people involved,” the reality star said of her divorce

Teddi Mellencamp sets the record straight about her continued divorce from Edwin Arroyave.

In the November 14 episode of her Two T’s in one pod podcasting with Tamra Judgethe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 43, alluded to ongoing rumors swirling about the reason behind her divorce.

“There are multiple sides to every story,” Mellencamp explains. “I’m not going to confirm or deny anything, but there are a lot of people involved, and I’ll say again the same statement I said before: the kids, they’re the priority and so that’s all I’m doing for now. go talk about this.”

“Moving on, I just didn’t want to get the ‘Oh, you’re such a hypocrite’ (comments),” she admitted, before referring to her children, Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and Cruz, 10. “There are little kids involved, family members. You don’t want to throw other people under the bus.”

The reality star also admitted that there was “so much” that she wasn’t “ready to process, talk about or involve the kids.”

While fans may want clarity, Mellencamp asked fans to “understand” her need for privacy.

“There will always, in every situation, be someone who is vocal and someone who is not, and I know that in my world of summarizing HousewivesI’m pretty loud,” she continued. “But when it comes to children and the lives of other people who didn’t sign up for this or signed up for this, I just have to be patient.”

She added, “But I’m still here, and I show up to work, and I do my best.”

On Nov. 1, Mellencamp filed for divorce from Arroyave, 47, after 13 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The next day, the Bravolebrity announced that the couple was splitting up in one Instagram post and emphasized the importance of putting their children first during the transition.

“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” the reality star wrote in her statement. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken for their privacy and well-being during this new chapter.”

“Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do,” she added, “but in an effort to protect my family from unnecessary speculation and rumors, I feel that being open, honest and vulnerable is the best path forward .’

In an episode of her podcast shortly after the announcement, Mellencamp said about the news: “I’m just doing my very best to make sure that my kids’ privacy is protected right now and that we can have all these conversations. I just didn’t want it to blow up.”

“And for anyone who’s curious why I would have posted it — posted a statement — it’s because when your name is recognizable and you file with the court, it becomes public,” she continued, before promising, “I know I will keep it. I work to feel my best so that I can show my best for my children, my life and my work. I think that’s the most important thing for me right now.”
