Weekend wine: Raziel Blanc with R2M

The Raziel Winery, founded by the Ben Zaken family, makers of Castel Winery, has now partnered with Ruthie Brodo’s R2M Group to bring their white wine to R2M’s delis. The wine will also be served by the glass in R2M restaurants between November 17 and 24.

Raziel Blanc, Raziel Winery’s first white wine, is made from Roussanne and Viognier grapes grown in the Judean Hills. The wine combines the aromatic profile of Roussanne with the acidity of Viognier, offering a refreshing and intriguing sip.

While it may have been ideal for early summer, its complexity makes it suitable for a serious dinner party.

Weekend Beer: Beerlich Brewery at Cafe Ahad Ha’am

Noam Erlich, founder of the Beerlich Brewery from Kibbutz Menara, believes his beer is best drunk on Israel’s northern border. However, due to the impact of the recent conflict on his kibbutz, Erlich and his family have been displaced and his brewery has been closed for more than a year.

Until the brewery can return home, Cafe Ahad Ha’am is offering you a taste of Erlich’s soulful Israeli craft beers this weekend.

To complement the beer, Kevin Yerzin and Ofer Kaplan serve Spanish-inspired tapas and tortillas in the café’s garden. Just bring yourself and enjoy.

Another beer for the weekend: Alexander Fest Lager

Initially launched last year as a special edition, this classic German-style Festbier has now been added to Alexander Brewery’s regular line-up due to popular demand.

The Fest Lager has a delicate sweetness and a balanced bitterness. It is unfiltered and unpasteurized, preserving its rich flavors and aromas, with a fine yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle, allowing it to continue to mature. It contains 5% alcohol.

NIS 14-16 per 330 ml bottle

Weekend Vodka: Van Gogh Watermelon-Lychee

This new vodka flavor combines the refreshing taste of watermelon with the sweetness of lychee, creating an exotic, beach-inspired flavor. Despite the sweet notes, the watermelon adds a light, refreshing twist.

My recommendation:

Serve a shot of vodka on ice with lime juice, a drizzle of sugar syrup or fruit syrup, garnished with Sprite and a sprig of mint – a sip of summer from your twenties.
