Law enforcement in the metro uncovers more speed issues

The Nebraska State Patrol shared more examples of drivers who were caught Thursday evening speeding on metro roads.

6 On Your Side had already reported the last example, of a car traveling 230 km/h in a 65 zone.

I-480 ramp at Harney will be closed

Beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Harney Street will turn onto southbound Interstate 480 will be closed in order carrying out paving repairs.

NDOT said the ramp will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday.

Meanwhile, previously scheduled sidewalk repairs affected the I-480 on-ramps at Leavenworth Street have been postponed until a date to be determined.

Man arrested in Millard shooting

The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that it had made an arrest in connection with a shooting last weekend.

29-year-old Cortez Jackson was charged with assault and possession of a weapon.

The shooting happened Saturday morning near 167th and Meridian Street.

According to the office, uninvited guests arrived at a house party and there was a confrontation.

One of the uninvited guests, believed to be Jackson, pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Raiola is good to go ahead of the Huskers’ matchup with USC

Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule said freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola will be healthy and ready to help the Huskers beat USC on Saturday.

The update came almost two weeks after Raiola had to be taken out Nebraska’s 27-20 loss to UCLA.

Kickoff against the Trojans is Saturday at 3 p.m

The game will be broadcast on FOX.

Decision on medical marijuana petitions is expected next week

A Lancaster County District Court judge is expected to rule next week in a lawsuit against the petition that led to this two medical marijuana initiatives pass on election night.

The lawsuit challenges several signatures submitted in the petition.

The judge could invalidate the election results and let the Nebraska Supreme Court make the final decision.

The plaintiff would have to find nearly 3,500 tainted signatures to retroactively remove the initiatives from the ballot.
