Mother of labor fraud victim found dead in Kasaragod

A 50-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Pallathakku, near Badiyadka, on Friday morning (November 15). The deceased was identified as Sarojini, the mother of an alleged job fraud victim.

Although neighbors rushed her to the hospital, she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her body has since been shifted to the Kasaragod General Hospital mortuary.

In the meantime, the police have reported an unnatural death. According to family members, Sarojini was devastated after losing ₹12.7 lakh in an alleged job fraud in which her eldest daughter was offered a job at the Central Plantation Crops Research Institute. To make the payment, Sarojini had reportedly sold her jewelry and taken loans.

A former DYFI leader who allegedly orchestrated the scam was arrested after Sarojini’s daughter filed a police complaint.
