Ruud van Nistelrooy has spoken for the first time since his departure Manchester United.

Van Nistelrooy shared a moment with fans after Sunday’s 3-0 win over Leicester City, but his departure was confirmed the next morning after Amorim landed in England.

Van Nistelrooy’s message to fans

On Friday afternoon, the former Red Devils striker shared an emotional message on social media expressing his gratitude to fans, players and staff.

“It has been a privilege and an honor to represent the club as a player, coach and manager, and I will always cherish the memories we shared together,” said Ruud van Nistelrooy via his X account.

He also wished the club good luck in the future.

“Manchester United will always have a special place in my heart, and I hope there will be many more glory days at Old Trafford soon – not just because I want the club to do well, but because you all deserve it! All the best and Be careful, Ruud.”

Van Nistelrooy was appointed interim coach on October 28 following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag.

The legendary striker played for Man United between 2001 and 2006, scoring 150 goals per season. Transfer market.
