Blue City Residents Say Migrant Wave Fueled Trump’s Gains: ‘Democratic Party Doesn’t Own Us’

Residents of blue cities believe newly elected President Donald Trump has made historic gains in Democratic-led cities because of liberal leaders’ mishandling of the migrant crisis.

“P-Rae” Easley, a Chicago Democrat turned Trump supporter, and Danielle Jurinsky, a city councilwoman in Aurora, Colorado, discussed why residents are fed up with liberal leaders during “The Ingraham Corner.”

“Do you expect your local leaders in Chicago to listen to the people of these cities, even though Democrats still want a majority?” Laura Ingraham asked Easley on Thursday. “They’re not happy.”

“Before today I would have said no,” she replied. “But today, for the first time in Chicago history, the entire City Council voted no on the mayor’s migrant funding budget. Literally fifty councilors said no. Straight red across the board. Chicago, Red is winning and the conscience of our leadership here is dawning.”

Chicago, a sanctuary city, has been bombarded with more than 51,000 migrants since 2021. according to city data.

The surge has taken a huge toll on the city’s resources, forcing officials to spend money more than 574 million dollars to accommodate illegal immigrants since 2022.

Amid the ongoing crisis, residents have begun to fight back against liberal policies, and Easley argued the council vote was indicative of that conservative shift.

“We vote for Democrats in this city because of the culture of patronage, bullying and terrorism,” Easley said. “And so we even have a federal decree to force them to stop calling it the Shakman Decree, and now that that’s done, and the people, everyone knows, of every race and every socio-economic level, that the Democratic Party If we don’t own it, Chicago is about to change, and today’s City Council vote clearly illustrated that.”

Meanwhile, the new Trump administration is already preparing to dramatically increase its capacity to detain people illegal immigrants As part of the mass deportation operation it has promised to launch in January, Fox News Digital has confirmed – the latest sign that it plans to make good on that promise.

President-elect Trump said during the campaign that he plans to launch a historic mass deportation campaign in the wake of the historic migrant crisis at the southern border.

“The fear is clearly that he’s talking about going after law-abiding Coloradans who have lived here for maybe 20 to 30 years,” Colorado’s Democratic Governor Jared Polis said of the plan. “It’s clear that it would devastate our economy and our society if someone were to come in and forcibly take our neighbors from us. We should not be tearing these de facto American families apart.”

Aurora, a suburb of Denver, has made national news in recent months as Venezuelan gangs have taken over apartment buildings and terrorized local communities.

Trump detailed his “Operation Aurora” at a meeting in the city in October, planned a federal-level program that would remove illegal immigrant members of Tren de Aragua. The program is expected to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to target and dismantle “any illegal migrant criminal network operating on U.S. soil.”

Jurinsky argued that if Polis stands in the way of the Trump administration’s deportation plan, it could hurt Democrats politically in future election cycles.

“It appears that they have become third-class citizens in this state, and American citizens have had to take a back seat to the chaos that our governor and our liberal policies and the failure of this current administration in this country have enabled,” Jurinsky said.

“If they see that our government is a roadblock for the next administration, for Kristi Noem’s team to come in and alleviate this chaos, I think it will hurt Democrats,” Jurinsky said. “I think Polis better get out of the way, like Tom Homan said.”
