James Bond bosses provide update on new 007

James Bond‘s producers have provided an update on the search for the next 007confirming more concrete details about the criteria of the role.

There is plenty of speculation about who will succeed Daniel Craig as the iconic spy since his departure three years ago, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

In a new interview with the Associated pressproducers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson didn’t provide any information about when exactly the announcement will be made, though they did admit it would be a “big decision.”

The pair then confirmed that the next Bond will be a man, likely in his 30s, while whiteness is not a given. The actor is also expected to commit for at least ten years.

Wilson opened up about entering a new era, adding: “Every time we cast a new actor, the films change. It’s the excitement of a new Bond, a new direction. Each of these people who take on the role names, offered something new and different.”

It comes after Jennifer Salke, the global head of Amazon MGM Studios, recently suggested it does “not concerned” with the gap between films after the release of No time to die back in 2021.

“A lot of ideas (about potential actors) came up that I thought were interesting,” she said The observer. “I think there’s a lot of different ways we can go.

“We have a good and close relationship with Eon and (producers) Barbara (Broccoli) and Michael (G Wilson). We have no intention of disrupting the way those beautiful films are made. For us, we are taking their lead.”

She added: “Global audiences will be patient. We don’t want too much time between films, but right now we’re not worried.”

Meanwhile, Craig recently admitted that he had he doesn’t care who succeeds him in the role of Bond.
