Elon Musk’s X deletes video of Dehradun accident. This is why

Elon Musk’s social media platform The social media platform removed the video for violating its content rules of “gratuitous bloodshed.”

An X user named Chauhan shared the video. After the video was deleted, he shared a screenshot of the deleted video message.

X does not allow explicit graphic content to be posted on its platform.

“Breaching our rules against posting media that depicts unnecessary bloodshed. You may not share excessively explicit media (e.g. serious injuries, torture). Exposure to gratuitous bloodshed can be harmful, especially if the content is posted with the intent to indulge in cruelty or sadistic pleasure,” the X notice said.

On November 11 evening, six youth were killed and one person seriously injured after their speeding vehicle hit a container truck near ONGC Chowk in Dehradun, according to a Times of India report. Three women, aged 19 to 24, were also among the deceased.

They were identified as Guneet Singh, Kamakshi Singhal, Navya Goyal, Rishabh Jain, Atul Agarwal and Kunal Kukreja. Siddhesh Agarwal is the only survivor who is in hospital and in stable condition, TOI reported.

The gruesome video of the gruesome accident surfaced out of focus on social media. The video reportedly showed the victims’ body parts.

In a separate post, Chauhan apologized for not adding a trigger warning or blurring the video.

“This video is for informational purposes only. I don’t claim this video even though I only got the video from X/Twitter. Sorry to everyone. I didn’t remember to add the trigger warning. I also forget the video to blur where sensitive things are shown.

Message to everyone “Don’t drive under the influence,” he wrote on X.

However, the videos of the accident are reportedly still available on other X handles, where the gruesome view is blurred to hide the blood and protect the victims’ identities.
