Family mourns Cleveland man killed for : ‘I just feel cheated’

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A mother is now forced to mourn the loss of her son after an altercation on Cleveland’s west side.

In October, 54-year-old Carlos Roldan was stabbed to death during a drug deal gone wrong.

His mother, Salena Clark, says she knew Roldan had a problem, but he didn’t deserve to die for it.

“He had just spent a year in prison and then been released, had gone through a drug rehabilitation program and was straight and sober for the first time that we know of,” Clark said.

It was the first time in years that Clark wanted to travel from her home in Columbus to Cleveland in hopes of meeting her son.

“It’s been that way all his life, knowing that my son is truly an amazing man… and I just feel cheated that I never had a moment in his entire life to enjoy him – his true self,” said Clark.

The family is organizing a wake on Saturday, November 16.

The man accused of Roldan’s murder is 22-year-old Christian Beaton.
