The trial of ‘Girl in the Box’ kidnapper Cameron Hooker has been postponed again until December

The process to determine whether or not Cameron Hooker should be considered a sexually violent predator continued again today in San Mateo County.

Hooker is the convicted criminal in Tehama County’s infamous “Girl in a Box” case after kidnapping and torturing Colleen Stan. He kept Stan as a sex slave in his Red Bluff home for seven years between 1977 and 1984.

The two-week jury trial will determine whether or not Hooker will be considered a sexually violent predator.

Prosecutors say Hooker will remain in prison if he is found to be a sexually violent predator. If not, he will be released to a halfway house.

The attorney in the case, John Halley, told KRCR that the trial in court on the afternoon of November 15 was continued until December 17. Halley said they expect a trial on that day and hope to choose. date for February or March 2025.
