The Laredo City Council will meet next week

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The Laredo City Council will meet for its regular meeting on Monday, November 18.

Councilwoman for District 3 Melissa Cigarroa explained that following the most recent boil water notice, the city’s focus remains on water infrastructure and ensuring the city stays on track with repairs.

With that in mind, she (Cigarroa) says some of her agenda items will open up discussions about securing a secondary water source for the community, an issue she believes the city should get ahead of.

Cigarroa said: “My item on the upcoming agenda is to direct the Utilities Department to also work on secondary water sources. It is written in such a way that it will be a person within the department who will be in charge of that, but we may have to look for consultants.”

Cigarroa added that it is important that the city addresses both concerns.
