Porch pirates caught on camera stealing packages in Cohoes

As the holidays approach, you may want to keep an eye on whether your items are delivered to your home.

Audreyanna Goot, a Cohoes viewer, sent video of the incident to NewsChannel 13.

The video shows someone walking up to her porch on Van Schaick Island and dragging away several packages. The person then ran back to the car and drove away.

“We were like, where’s the package? It was delivered as it says. We looked and then we noticed there was no package. Like what? Where the hell is it? Audreyanna said.

Matt Rogers lives in the house with Audreyanna and described to us the car that was used.

“It was quite a special vehicle. If you look at the footage, it made a lot of noise. And you can see that the front wheel on the driver’s side is missing a hubcap, and on the back they have a rim,” Rogers said.

According to Audreyanna, the alleged robber got out of the passenger seat of the car and someone else was in the driver’s seat.

Audreyanna said there was about $100 worth of merchandise in the stolen packages.

She also said these aren’t the only people on Van Schaick Island who have had their packages stolen.

“There’s about four other people I know, and there’s probably more,” Audreyanna said.

She said it looks like the same person in all the videos she has seen.

Audreyanna said she filed a report with the Cohoes Police Department. NewsChannel 13 also reached out to the Cohoes Police Department to find out more.
