‘Arab money is something else’

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly targeted signing Michael Olunga but perhaps he is beyond Amakhosi’s financial position.

IAN OTIENO SUGGESTION THAT MICHAEL OLUNGA IS EXPENSIVE

It’s been two years since Samir Nurkovic and Kaizer Chiefs are still looking for a productive striker at his level. Coach Nasreddine Nabi even went so far as to say that his current option Ranga Chivaviro is not a bad striker; the Tunisian coach wants a higher quality striker.

According to recent reports, Michael Olunga from Kenya has been targeted. The 30-year-old currently plays in Qatar for Al-Duhail SC, where he has 11 goals in 10 games, having scored 22 goals in 26 games last season.

Meanwhile, leading local outlet, FARPost, spoke to Olunga’s Kenyan teammate Otieno, who plays his club football for Richards Bay FC. Otieno believes Kaizer Chiefs may not be able to meet the financial conditions to sign Olunga.

“About Michael: he is the captain of the national team; we actually talk a lot,” Otieno shared FARPost.

“I heard the rumors that he was coming to Kaizer Chiefs, I don’t know.

‘But I don’t know, because the Arab money is something else, you know. You may never know what happens there.

“Yes, but if he wants to come in the future, I can invite him to come over because the PSL is such a good competition,” Otieno concluded on Kaizer Chiefs’ target.

DO YOU THINK KAIZER CHIEFS CAN PROMISE MICHAEL OLUNGA?
