Man faces drug trafficking and child pornography charges after traffic stop in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A man was arrested and faces multiple charges after a traffic stop and search warrant executed at a Birmingham home.

Detectives stopped a car in the 4700 block of Court M for traffic violations.

Authorities say the traffic stop resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Diego Pesquera.

We’re told detectives also executed a search warrant at a home located in the 1300 block of 57th Street in Birmingham.

Authorities say they seized narcotics from the vehicle, including 1,218 grams of fentanyl and 8,000 grams of methamphetamine. They allegedly seized four tubs of methamphetamine and 510 grams of fentanyl from the home.

They also say $13,282 in cash and a 2017 Honda were seized.

Pesquera has been charged with possession of child pornography and four counts of drug trafficking. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
