Outrage in Thailand over case of man who adopted dogs and then ate them

BANGKOK – Thai animal lovers are shocked and saddened by a disturbing case of animal abuse in Chiang Rai province.

The Watchdog Thailand Foundation has revealed a horrific incident of a man who adopted dogs under the guise of providing them with a loving home, only to cruelly slaughter and consume them.

The case came to light when a dog named “Sushi”, who had been rehomed several times, was adopted by a young Akha man.

Instead of providing a loving home, the man, identified as Ache Wuyi, became part of a disturbing trend of animal abuse. Tragically, Sushi – along with other dogs named Bear, Lucky and Sumo – suffered a gruesome fate.

When the Watchdog Thailand Foundation was notified of the incidents, it worked with local authorities to investigate the matter. Mae Chan police, led by Lt. Col. Kiatisuk Chitrprasan, interrogated Wuyi, who admitted to killing and eating the dogs.

Wuyi claimed he adopted the dogs but then killed and ate them due to behavioral problems and difficulties in rehoming them.
