Boxing fans remained convinced Jake Paul‘s long-awaited battle against Mike Tyson was ‘scripted’ after the YouTuber’s post-fight shock.

The eight-round fight, which took place at AT&T Stadium in Texas and was streamed Netflixwas scored 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 in favor of Paul.

Tyson watched every day of his 58 years as he was schooled by his younger opponent and appeared to be injured on several occasions. he bit his own gloves.

Paul visibly relaxed in the final rounds of the fight and avoided the temptation to deliver the knockout blow that an increasingly disenchanted and baying crowd feared was on the cards.

To his credit, Tyson fought his way to the finish and maintained his dignity, but fans were unimpressed with Paul confirming he didn’t want to cause unnecessary harm to his illustrious opponent.

“Yes, definitely a little bit,” he said when asked if he consciously took his foot off the gas during the closing rounds of the fight.

“I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want to hurt anyone who didn’t need to be hurt.”

He added: ‘There was a point where he (Tyson) wasn’t involved anymore, I could just see his age was showing a bit. That war violence… that disappeared as the rounds progressed.

When someone is just surviving in the ring, it’s hard to make it exciting. I don’t care what people have to say. It is what it is.’

In response to Paul’s apparent show of sportsmanship, a fan on X wrote: “Some might say it was all scripted.”

Another wrote: ‘The match was clearly scripted. Jake bowing to Mike during the fight made the setup visible. Mike clearly held back during the entire fight. This was a staged performance.’

“Netflix really botched their live sports debut by ripping us off with a Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson script and cashing in on millions?” added another fight fan.

“Exploiting a 58-year-old legend just to hype your platform is disrespectful. Tyson deserves better.”
