Man Utd striker told he’ll have to take on ‘Guam or Seychelles’ to finally score goal he’s desperate for

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has been hammered for his international form, with one player hoping for a match against ‘Guam, Seychelles or another small country’ so he can finally score.

Hojlund was one of United’s most expensive signings, joining the club for £72 million last summer. He impressed at times last season following a Premier League drought, but has struggled for club and country recently.

For United this season, the Dane has scored just two goals in 12 games, and he has now failed to score for his country in any of his last 11 games, with his last goal coming in October 2023.

Danish publication Tips Bladet hammered him on his last appearance, against Spain, in which he achieved a match rating of just two.

The rating read: ‘May Denmark soon meet Guam, Seychelles or another small country so that Rasmus Højlund can score the goal he is so hungry for in the national team. More than a year – eleven games – has passed since the last meeting with Højlund in red and white, and that must worry him. He wasn’t anywhere near against Spain.’

Denmark lost 2-1 to the European champions in their UEFA Nations League encounter. Although Hojlund played 79 minutes, he was unable to convert any of his team’s ten shots.

He will next take on Serbia before returning to United where he will meet a new manager in Ruben Amorim following the sacking of Erik ten Hag.

Hojlund’s lack of form won’t help his case with the new manager, who is reportedly already looking to make a big call-up Marcus Rashford was chosen as number 9despite the fact that he generally holds a left-wing position.

Hojlund will need to prove he is worthy of leading the way for United, but his current performances are not helping him make his case.
