Man dies after being hit by car in Mesa

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) —A man died Friday evening after being struck by a car in Mesa.

Around 6:30 p.m., Mesa police were called to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian near 56th Street and Main Street.

Police say a man, identified as 44-year-old Dustin Andersen, was walking at a red light in a crosswalk across Main Street at 56th Street.

According to police, a motorist was turning a green light westbound on Main Street when the collision occurred.

The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. There are no criminal charges pending at this time.
