Jan Egeland: “Der Norden gleicht a dystopian horror film”

Jan Egeland, 67, often spends years on the road in the Kriegs and Krisen regions. From 1990 to 1997, the State Secretary in the Norwegian Außenministerium and the war was busy with the Zeit and the Verhandlungen in Israel and the Palästinensische Liberation Organization (PLO) which was deployed in the Oslo-Friedensprozess-mündeten in 1993. Since 2013, the Egeland General Secretary of the Humanitarian Organization Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).

SAID ONLINE: Mr. Egeland, the US that appointed Israel as the first service, is the humanitarian Hilfe in Gaza stripes zu Veressern, sonst würden die Militärhilfen kürzt. It is not that the United States has developed, Israel has empowered Fortschritte. Who has considered this Entscheidung?

Jan Egeland: The Norwegian Refugee Council has a number of support organizations for the future een gemeinsamen Message veröffentlicht (PDF file). Darin kommen wir zu dem Ergebnis, thats Israel the customary maßnahmen – etwa 350 Trucks pro Tag – nicht in Ansatz erüllt hat. The humanitarian base in North Gaza would not budge. Kurz for the first time that Israel has visited another Grenzübergang in South Gazas, a few last passions that can deal with this issue in the Anschluss and the Weiterfahrt are hindered or plundered. This is a major change that will take place in the monates. When the time comes, there will still be no accidental war, while the strong Kriegspartei from the Gaza Strip is bombed and shaken.

SAID ONLINE: They would make their own choice from the Kriegsausbruch in Gazastreifen. Who wrote these low descriptions?

Egeland: In February 2024 I am at war for the start of the Israeli offensive in Rafah, like a million people auf engsten Raum zeeammengedrängt wurden. Damals thought that: Schlimmer cannot be. Zumindest in Süden kam zu dieser Zeit noch een wenig Hilfe an. Jetzt is the Low fell schlimmer. Der Norden offers a dystopian horror film. In Gaza City there is no end to a woolly area with completely destroyed buildings. In this Trümmerhaufen you can no longer die, but the heart can be warmed and the Norden can be whistled.

SAID ONLINE: More and more, the social order in Gaza has coalesced, ties and bewaffnete Kämpfer würden who our own Hilfslieferungen with Gewalt and his journey. Was haben Sie diesbezüglich beobachtet?

Egeland: When trucks go, the Gaza stripes are passing, they often no longer buy and were on the Straßen, which our Israeli Behörden zuweeisen, von Plünderern angegriffen. I have done it myself in the Grenzübergang Kerem Schalom: Vielleicht 100 Manner standen with Stöcken and warteten darauf, which anzuhalten and aufzuspringen the next Lastwagen. The Polizei in Gaza were so severely dezimiterized by the Israeli army that they cannot take care of the Ordnung.

SAID ONLINE: It would not yet be the case that UNRWA’s work in Gaza in January would de facto remain untouched by the work of the Palestinians in Israel. Who would like to attend the NRC for this moment?

Egeland: UNRWA is no longer extremely important for the people in the Gaza Strip, but rather important for others Hilfs organizations first Teile unserer Arbeit. In terms of logistics management, we are responsible for UNRWA in terms of logistics management. In the Schools, the Hilfswerk, many problems and merits will arise, which will be taken care of by other matters. A number of other organizations can bring the essence of the welfare program and NRC to laundry transport. There are other cases in which the light path coincides and a work occurs. If NRC starts talking about this issue now, we will sabotage its consequences.
