Lawrence Bishnoi gang aide held from Punjab

Chandigarh: The Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​of the Punjab Police in a joint operation with the Maharashtra Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a person from Fazilka in connection with the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique. It may be recalled that Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 12 last.

Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, Gaurav Yadav said the arrested suspect has been identified as Akash Gill, a resident of Pakka Chishti in Fazilka district. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang and provided logistical assistance to the gunmen involved in the killing of Baba Siddique. He said the suspect has been handed over to Mumbai Police for further investigation.

Sharing details of the operation, ADGP and AGTF Promod Ban said that police teams under the supervision of AIG AGTF Sandeep Goel worked closely with Mumbai Police in the Baba Siddiqui murder case and during the ongoing investigation, the role of accused Akash Gill came to light forward.

Police teams of AGTF led by DSP Rajan Parminder Singh quickly launched a joint operation along with Mumbai Crime Branch and arrested the suspects from Sulemanki road in Fazilka, he said.
