Lara Trump says she is very open to replacing Rubio in the Senate

Co-Chairman of the Republican National Committee Lara Trump told Fox News on Saturday that she would “strongly consider” becoming a senator. by Marco Rubio (R-FL) now seats the president-elect in the Senate Donald Trump has chosen him as his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Lara Trump joined Fox & Friends weekend co-host Will Cain to discuss some of her father-in-law’s cabinet choices to date, including Cain’s co-host Piet Hegseth. Cain wrapped up the interview by asking Trump about Rubio’s calls for office replacement in the Senate and she said, “There have been crazier things the Trumps have done.”

“Do you want to be a disruptor in the Senate?” Cain asked.

“Well, you know, there have been crazier things the Trumps have done in the past, that’s for sure. Look, I was honored to serve as RNC co-chair during this truly historic election. I think what we did at RNC was part of the great victory that Donald Trump won, and if I had to serve in any other capacity, it would truly be my honor,” Trump said. “I think it would be great to have another young mother in the United States Senate besides Katie Britt. I haven’t been asked yet, but I would certainly consider it if it were presented to me.”

Republican lawmakers Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) have both publicly called that Trump would act as Rubio’s replacement in the Senate.

Trump has been co-chairman of the RNC since March. Rubio’s replacement, to be appointed by the governor of Florida. Ron DeSantis (R), would face a special election in 2026.
