Tragic suicide of 15-year-old girl in Piplani after disagreement with father

Scolded by father, 15-year-old dies by suicide in Piplani

Bhopal: A 15-year-old girl reportedly died by suicide at her home in Piplani on Friday morning after a minor disagreement with her father. Her father asked her to cook ‘poha’ for him after which she locked herself in her room and took the extreme step. The family rushed her to AIIMS hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Based on information, Piplani police registered a case and handed over the body to the family after an autopsy.
Investigating Officer SI Vijay Singh said the deceased, Nandini Dubey, 15, daughter of Nitin Dubey, lived in Raj Samrat Colony, Piplani. Her education was disrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic and she has been staying at home since then. Her father, a media professional, asked her to prepare ‘poha’ (a breakfast dish) around 10 am on Friday morning as he had to leave for work. Nandini’s mother, who was busy on the terrace, suggested that Nandini prepare breakfast.
However, when her father passed on the request, Nandini got upset and went to her room. Worried when she did not come out after a long time, her father entered the room and found her hanging. The family immediately rushed her to AIIMS hospital where she was declared brought dead. The police were informed by the hospital and filed a report. After the autopsy process was completed, the body was handed over to the family.
