Gunshots follow physical altercation, police investigate

ITHACA (WBNG) – The Ithaca Police Department responded to a dispute report Saturday morning.

Around 5 a.m., Ithaca police said they received multiple 911 calls from people reporting multiple shots had been fired in the area. The report sent officers to an apartment in the 600 block of Chestnut Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a physical altercation between several people. Through further investigation, the department said it determined the shots were fired following the physical change in the home.

According to the police, there is no danger to the public.
