Former NFL quarterback and current FOX NFL analyst Tom Brady, who a five percent interest in the Las Vegas Raiders, is expected to have a heavy hand in running the Silver and Black, per Dianna Russini of De Athletics.

New Raiders minority owner Tom Brady represents ‘excellence,’ says Raiders majority owner Mark Davis. While Brady is busy broadcasting for Fox and may only have a 10 percent stake in the Raiders, I expect his involvement in running the team closer to 90 percent, we already know the organization wants to lean on Brady when choosing a future quarterback One of Davis’ strengths is his openness to listening to experienced football people, and he appreciates Brady’s understanding of what it takes to get there. win at a high level.”

Davis certainly needs help and guidance as his team hasn’t won a playoff game since 2002. And so now he’s reportedly turning Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, in hopes of turning around the franchise.

While Brady will apparently have a heavy hand in the Raiders’ football operations, he’s still in the first year of a 10-year, $375 million adventure. contract with Fox Sports. Of course, that raises the question of conflict of interest. As previously reported, Brady has some limitations on what he can do as a broadcaster.

Regardless, Brady’s ownership interest has been approved and he will continue to be a big voice in the Raiders organization. There’s also the question of whether he can adequately handle two jobs at once, though Brady will likely be released this offseason if he doesn’t play games.

Ultimately, it’s clear that Brady will have Davis’ ear at a pivotal moment in franchise history. For now, the last-place 2-7 Raiders are riding a losing season that continues Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
