One injured in early morning crash in Lake County

Saturday morning at 5:01 a.m., the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a crash on State Highway 1 and County Highway 2, Stony River TWP, in Lake County.

A Toyota Rav4 was traveling northbound on County Highway 2 approaching State Highway 1 when the vehicle went through the State Highway 1 intersection before crashing into the ditch. The vehicle has tripped an electrical junction box, cutting off power to the surrounding area. The vehicle was on fire.

The 26-year-old driver was transported to Essentia Health-Duluth with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
