Former Cincinnati Bengals star Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones is facing multiple charges after taking part in a fight at a hotel bar, according to police in Texas.

Jones, 41, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, November 16, and charged with public intoxication, assault on a peace officer and resisting and evading arrest, according to the Arlington Police Department (APD). booking details.

The APD told PEOPLE in a statement that an off-duty officer working shifts at the Live by Loews hotel was informed by security just after 1 a.m. that “a fight had broken out in the bar.” But by the time the officer arrived on scene, the “individuals involved” in the fight – including Jones – had already been “separated.”

Police said at that point the former NFL player “continued to approach and yell at the others involved” in the altercation, prompting the officer to step between them and warn Jones that if he “attempted to fight again, he would do that’. be arrested.”

Another fight broke out in the bar “a short time later” involving Jones, prompting the officer and hotel security to intervene again.

“While the officer and hotel security were working to separate the individuals involved, Mr. Jones struck the officer in the arm,” the APD said in its statement. “At that time (the officer) informed Mr. Jones (that) she was arresting him for assault on a peace officer.”

The APD added that the officer called for backup, and while she waited for them to arrive, she attempted to handcuff Jones. However, Jones “got off and started walking away.”

Additional officers eventually arrived on scene and “assisted in taking him into custody,” APD said.

Jones was booked into the Arlington City Jail around 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 16, according to booking records. His bail was set at $319.

Jones’ reps did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

However, one of his representatives mentioned it TMZ Sportswho first reported the news that the former football cornerback “adamantly denies the allegations and looks forward to explaining the truth when the time comes.”

They added that Jones had been “in town” for the Mike Tyson And Jake Paul fought “like thousands of other people in Dallas last night,” and had “a good time, spending time with the fans.” He added that “Pacman returned to his hotel to unwind for the evening” and “was not looking for trouble.”

This isn’t the former cornerback’s first run-in with the law.

He was then arrested last year at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport causing a nuisance as an “unruly passenger” on a flight, several news media reported at the time.

He was booked on misdemeanor charges of alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct and terroristic threats.

Before that, in 2017, the former NFL player was arrested on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, obstruction of official business and intimidation with a bodily substance after allegedly causing a disturbance at the Millennium Hotel in Cincinnati, which police confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.
