CENTERVIEW, Mo. (KCTV) – One woman has been charged in connection with the theft of more than $1,500 worth of items from a semi-truck parked near an abandoned building in a rural Missouri town.

Henry County, Missouri, District Court Records filed on Wednesday, Nov. 13 show that Casey Hoyt, 35, of Calhoun, has been charged in connection with more than $1,500 lost during the theft of a semi-truck.

A probable cause statement filed by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office stated that around 4:35 p.m. on Monday, November 11, emergency services were called to the area of ​​N. Depot and N. Graham St. in Centerview with reports that a woman was found in an abandoned building .

When first responders arrived, the victim reported finding Hoyt with paperwork he kept in the cab of his semi-truck. She allegedly offered oral intercourse in exchange for a ride to Alabama. When the victim told her he was going to call the police, she ran into a nearby wooded area.

In total, investigators discovered that Hoyt had a navigation system, a CB radio and five six-packs of Dr. Pepper stole, netting approximately $1,535. On Tuesday she was traced to an address near the scene of the crime. The homeowner reported that Hoyt was staying with him before she was found inside. The stolen items were found on a nearby trail.

Law enforcement officials said Hoyt was found at the home and taken into custody. During an interview, she reported drinking a large amount of alcohol and denied any memory of the night before.

As of Saturday, November 15, Hoyt will be behind Henry County bars on a $10,000 bond. She faces a single charge of stealing $750 or more and faces up to seven years in prison and a $10,000 fine. A hearing on the bond reduction is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20 at 9 a.m. No further information has been released.
