Teacher attacked for 'abusing' students in Tripura

Agartala: A male teacher was publicly attacked on Saturday over allegations of abusing female students at Krishnapur High School in Khowai district of West Tripura.
The management of secondary education immediately sought reports from both the district education officer and the principal on the incident. The teacher was instructed to remain inside the station until further notice.
During school hours, several teenage girls chased the teacher around campus with broomsticks, only for outsiders to join the chase. Police have taken the suspected computer teacher into custody. According to local residents, the teacher allegedly abused three female students and made inappropriate comments.
Parents rushed to the school premises on hearing about the incident from their children and attacked the teacher, identified as Bipul Ghosh.
He was forcibly taken from the staff room and severely beaten. The crowd placed a wreath of shoes around his neck.
