Hyannis woman charged with driving under the influence after crashing into a police cruiser

HYANNIS – A 20-year-old Hyannis woman was charged with operating while intoxicated and other violations after she crashed her car into a parked police cruiser early Saturday morning.

Gabriela Prodelik was driving when she collided with the unoccupied Barnstable Police Department vehicle on Lincoln Road just after 1 a.m. while officers responded to a silent 911 call at a nearby home.

Prodelik and her 24-year-old passenger were injured in the crash and transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Hyannis Fire Department personnel.

Their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

Authorities booked Prodelik at the hospital for operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor, careless operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license and speeding.

She will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on these charges.
