One house evacuated after car crashed into gas line in two-vehicle accident

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) – At 3 a.m. Sunday morning, police responded to a crash near Fountain and Circle Ave.

They discovered one vehicle had run a red light northbound on Circle Avenue, while the other vehicle was traveling westbound on Fountain when it was struck.

Both drivers were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle running a red light struck the vehicle, a curb, a fence and a gas line.

The gas line was located on Carlsbad Drive, near a home, which was evacuated. The Colorado Springs Fire Department was able to stop the gas leak.

According to police, alcohol does not appear to have played a role in the accident.
