14 people arrested by the FBI in the Hartford area for apparent narcotics trafficking

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) – Fourteen people were arrested by the FBI this week for narcotics trafficking, according to two affidavits.

Twelve suspects were identified Friday as follows:

  1. Wilfredo Ortiz, aka ‘Will’, ‘P’

  2. Michael Luisi, aka “Mike”

  3. Eli Samuel O’Farrill-Fernandez, aka ‘Eli’, ‘Maple’

  4. Samuel Martinez, aka “Sammy”

  5. Tashia Bridges, aka “Cheena”

  6. Dimas Rodriquez, aka ‘Dima’, ‘D’

  7. Jose M. Ortiz

  8. Jose L. Ortiz

  9. Richard Beaudoin, aka ‘Rich’

  10. Richard Zina, aka “Rich”

  11. Curtis Rooth, aka “Scooter”

A twelfth person was also arrested, but their name was redacted from the affidavit.

The affidavit included a conversation in which two of the suspects said they were going to shoot people and hurt innocent people.

In a separate affidavit, the FBI identified two additional suspects: Jemuel Jose Vega-Gomez and Jose Rivera.

Agents searched the home of Jemuel Jose Vega-Gomez in New Britain on Thursday and found two kilos of cocaine and a firearm with an extended magazine. Evidence showed he was linked to apparent drug deals at some target locations the FBI was monitoring, the affidavit said. He was arrested on the spot at his home.

Additional surveillance revealed that Vega-Gomez traveled to Holyoke, Massachusetts to complete a narcotics drug deal.

Police also searched Jose Rivera’s home in Rocky Hill on Thursday and found 500 grams of suspected fentanyl, one and a half grams of suspected cocaine and a firearm. Additionally, they found several passports, the affidavit said. He was arrested on the spot.

Surveillance also revealed that Rivera was making clear deals at more target locations that the FBI was monitoring.
