Woman involved in crash after medical emergency on I-635

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – A Kansas City woman is believed to have suffered only minor injuries after suffering a medical emergency while driving on Saturday evening.

Just after 6pm on November 16, the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the crash on southbound I-635, 15 feet south of Kansas Avenue.

According to KHP, a 66-year-old woman suffered an undisclosed medical emergency while driving in the first lane of I-635 and came to a stop. A 30-year-old Parkville man driving behind her failed to stop in time and struck the rear of her Ford Mustang.

The second driver was not injured in the accident, but his car was towed.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with possible minor injuries, according to KHP. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
